Award-winning photographer and explorer, John calls a tiny house on his wife's historic Maryland farm his base camp. But his true passion lies in traversing landscapes on foot, from national park hikes to his local park's trails. With 10,000+ miles logged and the Appalachian Trail conquered, John feet know no bounds.

Capturing the World, Step by Step:

John's journey with photography began in 1994 with his dad's trusty Minolta XG 1. KINSA, Kodak’s international award soon followed, igniting a fire that led him to share his vision through workshops and classes. For John, photography isn't just a passion; it's an extension of his mind, translating vibrant textures and colors into stunning visuals.

Where Magic Meets Wanderlust:

Deep within the wilderness, nature's magic comes alive for John. His photography evokes both serenity and wonder, inviting viewers on a journey through his explored landscapes. Follow him and discover the world, one captivating step at a time.

John Lauritsen captures the soul of the wilderness. His photos evoke a sense of awe within intimate landscapes, a quiet peace, and the thrill of exploration in our world.
